About the Artist…

Rachael is an artist, hand lettering enthusiast, and casual book-reader residing in the greater New Orleans area. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Speech/Theatre with a minor in English from Louisiana Tech University. She enjoys hiking and being outdoors, sifting through thrift shops for treasures, and getting paint on every article of clothing that she owns. Although having never had formal training in painting or drawing, there was never a time in her life when she wasn’t creating art of some sort, whether that was visual or performing. One can see the two art forms mesh in her dramatic and colorful style. Through her visual art she tries to capture the beauty of a single moment and tell its story, whether that be a striking sunset, the weightless movement of a dancer, or the intricate beauty of nature.

Perhaps she is drawn to lettering because of a chronic case of bibliophilia, and is fascinated that emotion can be expressed through type itself.
