100 Sketches

100 Sketches

Drumroll please…… I’M DONE! I did one hundred sketches! Hurray!

I feel like perhaps I improved in my drawing skills a little, but more importantly, drawing was kept in the forefront of my mind, it supported my creativity, and helped me to see things better. The most helpful part of this project was having a list of things to draw from so that I didn’t sit and waste time trying to think of something to draw.

I had hoped to create a daily drawing practice, but I think my downfall was that I did not set a time every day in which to draw. I just told myself, “I need to have a drawing by the end of the day, even if I stay up late doing it.” But this led to my sleep-Rachael-brain (who is VERY persuasive) to say, “oooh, you’ll just do two tomorrow and it will be fine!” Which never happened. But hey, learning!

This was so much fun that I decided, why not do it again? But with a twist. For my next “hundred” project I will tackle some lettering! I may actually try to do this in an honest one hundred days. Wish me luck!

If you don’t care about lettering and think it’s lame, you can also go to Instagram and search the hashtag #rachpacesketchbook to see all of these sketches again… and more from my sketchbook!

And I’d love to know, which sketch is your favorite?
